Recovery Isn’t Resting—It’s Recharging

By now, you’ve probably noticed: this programme doesn’t just throw workout after workout at you.
That’s because progress doesn’t happen when you train, it happens when you recover.
But let’s clear something up: recovery isn’t just lying on the sofa and hoping your back stops hurting. It’s an active process. And when you get it right, everything feels better, your movement, your mindset, your energy.
So what does recovery actually look like?
It can mean different things depending on where you’re at, but here’s the baseline:
Movement, not stillness
Gentle mobility, walking, or a Recovery Flow session like today’s will help blood flow, reduce tightness, and speed up healing.
Nutrition that supports repair
You don’t need to overthink it, but getting enough protein, staying hydrated, and avoiding under-eating really matters.
Good sleep (as often as you can)
Your body heals and recharges while you sleep. One bad night won’t break you—but regular poor sleep will slow everything down.
Switching off the stress response
Pain is often worse when stress is high. Short walks, breathing drills, and mobility sessions help bring the nervous system back into a calmer state.
Why it matters in a programme like this
If you push too hard without giving your body a chance to adapt, you end up stuck in the same cycle: tight, tired, and tense.
This week’s workouts might’ve felt a little more challenging, especially if your glutes and core have been a bit “asleep” until now. That’s why today matters. It’s the reset button.
This week’s mission
Do your Recovery Flow. Go for your walk. Notice where you still feel tight, and where things are starting to ease.
You’re not stepping away from progress, you’re fuelling it.
